Priorities

What convictions will guide our choices?

1. GOD must be glorified.

Everything we do must be God-centered and God-exalting, so as to reveal the radiance of His Glory.

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Romans 11:36

2. PRAYER must be emphasized.

Prayer must permeate all our efforts, expressing absolute dependence upon God.

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; Colossians 4:2

3. GOD’S WORD must be magnified.

The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to transform lives; we must study it, memorize it, meditate on it, sing it, preach it, teach it, proclaim it and obey it.

For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

4. GOOD DEEDS must be exemplified.

We must encourage one another to do good deeds, to meet the pressing needs of hurting people.

Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful. Titus 3:14

5. SMALL GROUPS must be multiplied.

A climate of love must be cultivated by gathering in small groups where people can encourage and care for one another.

Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

6. MUSIC must be culturalized.

Music is a powerful force that helps people engage with God; we must be sensitive to the cultural preferences of the people we are trying to reach.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonish- ing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16

7. LEADERS must be unified.

We must hold a high standard for church leaders who will model Christ-like maturity, serve with humility and promote unity.

Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Philippians 2:2

8. FAMILIES must be sanctified.

God’s blueprint for the family is foundational for church and society; we must follow God’s wisdom for marriage and family life.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

9. PEOPLE must be mobilized.

Believers must identify their spiritual gifts and be mobilized for ministry and for friendship evangelism.

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Colossians 4:5

10. NATIONS must be evangelized.

We must do our part to fulfill Christ’s commission to reach every people group with the good news of our Savior.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
