Brock is a native Oregonian, born and raised in La Grande. After graduating from La Grande High School he attended Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for a cabinetmaker prior to beginning an internship at First Baptist in July 2009.
Brock is currently overseeing the junior high school and high school youth ministries and is also presently pursuing a seminary degree online through Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He likes to play sports, hunt and hike, and he is a fan of Oregon State athletics.
