Pastor Wayne grew up in the Texas hill country and moved to Oregon in 1970 to attend Western Baptist Seminary in Portland and marry Bonnie Ware who grew up in Spokane. After completing his Master of Divinity degree, he and his bride moved to Enterprise, Oregon where Wayne became the pastor of First Baptist Church (1974-1985).
In 1985 God called them to Westside Baptist in Yakima where they served for 12 years. In the fall of 1997, Pastor Wayne and Bonnie came to F.B.C. of La Grande.
Wayne and Bonnie have three married children and three grandchildren, with two more on the way. Pastor Wayne enjoys horseback riding, oil painting, photography and writing poetry. Bonnie enjoys reading, RV camping and being a grandma.
